Movie Clip Wednesday - My First Date Movie

Boxer seems to be looking for all kinds of excuses for not to resuming her hostess duties. So, the Milk River Madman continues hosting the Movie Clip Wednesday Meme where everyone picks a clip from their favorite movies based on a weekly theme and tries to keep the clip or clips to around 3 minutes long. This week's theme is MY FIRST DATE MOVIE. This promises to be one of the more interesting and revealing MCW themes ever. Kudos to the Madman .

Well, I can remember the date and the girl - but the movie...I'm taking an educated guess. I am pretty sure it was 1975's Rocky Horror Picture Show. I think it was 1978 and the girl was a fiery redhead named Colleen. I've always had a thing for redheads (the Mrs is blond - allegedly). We were getting busy in the back row during the entire movie (end seats right against the wall) which is why I'm a little fuzzy on the actual movie. I know we went to this movie, I'm just not sure it was the first, but it'll have to do.

And this is my favorite scene and song from the Horror. I remember reading somewhere that Meatloaf was told when he sang this song to just get as many words in as he could - and he got them all. I also like the big spiral ramp set they used too.

I am giddy with excitement in anticipation of the stories we'll hear over at the Madman 's.

I like redheads as well. Back in the old days, instead of saying something like "see ya later" we'd say "Don't let yer Meatloaf." It was pretty funny in it's day.

Fiery and Redhead seem to go together. I have restraining orders out on two of them. Good story!

I don't know any red heads. But I know this movie like the back of my hand. I think I spent half my Saturday nights junior year in high school sneaking out my window to go see this. My girlfriends and I had mad crushes on Frankenfurter. Happy MCW!

Good afternoon Buzz Kill,

Good choice in the movie and the scene. Considering that you can't remember for sure about the movie, must have been a good choice in the girl too.

Happy clip day!

Classic stuff, but I never really saw it until I was in my 30's for some unknown reason! Very cultish and decadent and everything a first date movie should be. We also had the don't let your meatloaf saying in this part of the world also!

Loved, loved this movie and Mr. Boxer and I just watched it a few weeks ago. Kind of nice to be able to actually hear the songs. The last time I went, there was too many things being thrown and screamed. *good times*

WHY was the back row the best seat for making out? it's the first thing people see when they walk in the theater. AND it's exactly where I sat during my movie date. Happy MCW!

If you haven't seen this one - you should, I think it's right up your alley. Good music and an interesting storyline. A lot of big names before they were big too.

Heff
Like I said - I'm guessing at what movie it was.

Madman
The things you remember from the movies. A scene, a line, a song can make you think of things you haven't thought of in ...decades. Loved the theme this week but was a little dissapointed in the lack of female first date stories. I'll just have to use my imagination - as always.

Troll
As well you should. Fortunately, Colleen (and there was also an Eileen later on) never came back to stalk old Buzz. I don't know if I should be thankful or bummed.

Moi
And I'm sure you and your girlfriends dressed the part too. Got any pictures?

Karl
Second base baby, second base.

Pam
I've never heard of the "don't let your meatloaf" line. Is that like Don't let your bag drag. or Don't let your carrot stick? You definitely have to be a teenager with lots of energy to fully appreciate this movie experience. Now that I'm thinking about it, I think Colleen and I had water and toast all over us.

Boxer
The movieplex we use to go to had 2 aisles with 3 sections of seats. The 2 outside sections had 8 seats and ended at the wall. The back corners were tucked back far enough from the doors to afford some privacy. The throwing of stuff and screaming was a great diversion.

heh...."the Mrs is blond - allegedly"

Does she read yore blog BuzzK?

Meatloaf wuz before my sense of humor wuz fully developed. But on redheads, I hear ya'. An Troll.

Granny were a redhead afore it silvered. AN I has the scars to prove it.

I reckon that redhead learnt a lot that day.
